Melbourne - Day 2 (Part 1) Great Ocean Road

Rise and shine! We woke up early in the morning to get ready for our tour the second day. We ate breakfast which was the leftover we saved from yesterday dinner =p After braving the morning weather (which was cold by the way), we waited for the van to pick us up at St Paul Cathedral. It was really weird to see the bustling city so quite that morning and we took the opportunity to take some more pictures!!

You can practically roll on the street =p

Empty street vs rush hour

We chose to join melbourneaustraliatours for our one day trip to the Great Ocean Road. A van picked us up and we met our tour guide for the day, Milan. There are many other options for tourist to get to the Great Ocean Road. It’s a great option to drive by rental car there especially when you can easily plan our route through the GOR. Most people that chose to drive on their own usually spend more than one day because GOR is more than just the main tourist attractions such as the 12 apostles. They took time to not only go to the main attractions but also to appreciate the surrounding places at GOR too. It’s also so that you are not rushed in enjoying the experience of driving through the Great Ocean Road.

In our case, we can only spend a day for the Great Ocean Road trip and decide to use a tour service so that we were not too tired along the trip (I don’t have to drive!! YEAY). Honestly, the trip took so long that both of us slept a bit along the way and I was very grateful that I don’t have to drive myself for the trip.  Our guide was friendly and he explained about the journey and sometimes random things in Australia. The tour was managed by a family and Milan, our tour guide was an old guy who still drives for trips to GOR multiple times a week!  We stopped at Anglesea to stretch our legs and took in some beach view.

Pictures with both of us are limited =p

Those sands were so hard to walk on T_T

It was so sunny!!

Trying to get forest burning pics

We saw people going surfing that morning

The view along the beach was so beautiful that I can’t stop taking pictures of it. The sky was clear and the beach was so clean and captivating. We saw a couple of people heading to the beach to surf even though the water must be freezing cold. We were chasing time to get ahead of other tourist to the attractions so did not stop at the archway that marked the beginning of Great Ocean Road.

We stopped at a small town that I can’t remember the name of so that we can get some breakfast or use the restroom. It was so quite at that town which was a complete opposite to the CBD. It was peaceful and less people that I saw there.

It was a quite small town with so few people

I got one to stay still long enough so I can take pics
